October Meeting
What's New with Web Technologies
This meeting will present some of the academic and technical elements
of Web site design, as well as the business and management aspects
of Web site operations and services, including traffic generation
(search engine optimization).
All businesses that operate a Web site on the Internet should seek
a page one status on various search engines for relevant search
terms. If you can achieve that, it’s equivalent to advertising
in Times Square on New Year’s Eve — for free! Our speakers
will discuss the actions needed to achieve high “organic”
rankings.
Additional topics that will be covered include Web 2.0 and its
application to external Web sites, Service Oriented Architecture,
as well as internal employee-only Web based tools and services.
And finally, the question on everybody’s mind: “Why
should I care about these online technologies?” will be answered.
You will leave this meeting with a clear understanding of how you
can leverage what you’ve learned today to achieve both personal
career goals and your organization’s mission critical objectives.
To discuss these topics, we have some of the leading firms in this
field, including mindSHIFT (formerly Invision), Salem Global Internet
Website Marketing, and St. John’s University.
The following speakers will be presenting:
Dov Weinstock, President Salem
