The highly anticipated ATIP-LI Healthcare Special Interest Group
(SIG) is here!
Our kick-off and planning meeting has been scheduled and we look forward
to everyone attending, participating and learning from what is sure to
be THE SIG to join on Long Island when it comes to IT and healthcare.
Mission
The mission of the AITP Long Island
Chapter Healthcare SIG is to provide opportunities for mutual support,
networking and education in the field of healthcare information
technology. Our goals:
- Advocate for the effective use of information technology within
all areas of the healthcare industry: private practices, hospitals,
labs, clinics, insurance firms and pharmaceutical companies.
- Inform SIG members, healthcare IT professionals, the healthcare
industry and the public on the benefits of healthcare information
technology.
- Team up with other healthcare-related organizations to provide
leverage and synergy to accomplish our mutual goals.
- Provide a forum for all healthcare IT professionals on Long
Island and in metro New York to network and share industry best
practices.

Danish will be served

Keynote Speaker:
Kevin Dahill, President and CEO of the Nassau-Suffolk Hospital
Council (http://www.nshc.org)
Kevin will provide us with valuable insight on the healthcare IT
challenges faced by Long Island hospitals, private practices and
clinics.
SIG Review and Q&A:
After our opening remarks and the keynote talk, we will conduct an
open discussion and review of the AITP-LI Healthcare SIG. We will be
soliciting ideas, thoughts and general information to help build the
SIG.

About the AITP Long Island Chapter
The mission of the Long Island Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) is to provide members with professional development, education, and exposure to technology trends and leadership in the Long Island business community. The chapter provides opportunities for networking with experienced peers in industry, academia, and government, and offers a student scholarship program. Founded in 1954, the AITP Long Island Chapter was named national “Association Outstanding Chapter” in 2007, and is the association of choice for Long Island’s information technology leaders.
