Information Technology Leaders to Discuss
Trends and Training at February 24th AITP Meeting
Forum will explore IT initiatives in business, education and government
Hicksville, N.Y. – February 18, 2009 – The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) Long Island Chapter today announced the speaker lineup for its February 24th meeting titled: “Preparing for the Upturn: IT as the Re-defining Engine for Everything.” Details on the event are available at: http://www.aitp-li.org/events/upcoming/2-24-09.html.
At this meeting, leading information technology (IT) experts will discuss their programs, initiatives and observations on trends in the industry. Speakers will cover the skills required in the workforce and the educational initiatives, grants and programs that are available to businesses and individuals.
“Although we face a very challenging economy today, it is clear that information technology (IT) can be the driving force behind increased organizational productivity,” said Barbara Viola, president, AITP Long Island Chapter. “But business can’t do it alone—a strong foundation of training and education is needed to arm the workforce with the skills required support these IT initiatives. The AITP is hosting this meeting to provide the IT, education and government communities with a forum to share information on their needs and the programs that are available to support these initiatives.”
